The Challenge: Installing a multi-location, cost-effective security system.

We once had a client who owned a large property with several buildings, trees, and walkways. They wanted security cameras to be set up at various areas around the property and needed it consolidated to a recorder in one location. However, they did not want to bear the expense or the mess from trenching the vast property.

Our biggest challenge was zeroing in on a product that would fulfill the client’s needs while staying within the budget allocated to the project.

The Solution: Wireless antennas across different site points.

We were aware that wireless technology allowed several cameras to transmit signals across a few miles but within the line of sight. Unfortunately, this client’s property lacked a direct line of sight for surveillance cameras. After inspecting the property and brainstorming with the team, we quickly came up with a practical solution. We installed wireless antennas at multiple points on the property which meant bouncing the signal off of a few buildings.

We needed to prove to our client that this would work. We set up in various locations on the property and performed an onsite demo of our idea. It worked well although we had to attach very long extension cords to find power.

This project has been going on for years. In that time, we have added cameras and changed locations as the client’s needs evolved. We are still working with the client, and they are delighted with our creative solutions.
